The Company and the Role:
The Company is a high end Estate Resort & Villa complex which has a unique collection of standalone villas and larger residences along with one-and-two bedroom suites.
Located on a 1200-acre estate that benefits from a wide variety of amenities including four beaches, four restaurants and bars, an 18-hole golf course, a complimentary kids and teens club open daily, three tennis courts, lit for night play, non-motorized water sports, hiking trail and a fitness centre.
They are now seeking a Landscaping Manager.
Reporting into the Resort Manager, you will be responsible for strategically directing and managing the operations of the landscaping department.
Key Features of the Role:
- Day to day management of the landscaping department that undertakes landscaping of high end properties and projects.
- Organization of day to day activities of a local workforce
- Ensuring that work is delivered with a high degree of operational efficiency, whilst adhering to the requirements of a high end resort environment
- Development of standard operating procedures
- Ensuring that department operates profitably including rigorous expense control and maximization of revenues
- Responsible for staffing and proper scheduling levels
- Work, coach and effectively manage employees and assign the most qualified person for the job
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Be an accomplished Landscaping Manager, ideally with experience in the hotel and resort sector in a tropical environment
- Demonstrable skills in leading and able to train and coach local workforce
- Excellent communicator skills (Verbal and Written)
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Proactive, hands-on approach
- Possess a professional level background in the management of large scale landscaping operations (including Construction landscaping)
- In-depth knowledge in the fields of agronomy, horticulture and general landscaping in a tropical environment
- Ability to work in a remote location with limited resources
- Excellent IT/ pc, project management and decision-making skills
What’s on Offer?
The basic salary is paid in USD and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition, there is an annual bonus which is also paid in USD and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. A company vehicle is also provided along with a laptop and a mobile phone.
Free accommodation is provided along with all utility bills paid. Free meals in the staff canteen.
Holiday entitlement is 24 days per year, laundry, local transport, medical insurance and sick pay are also provided.
In addition, all Ex-Pat employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by the Company. A relocation allowance is also payable.
