Job Details
A carer is required to provide care and support for a male with a spinal cord injury. You will work in an established team of trained staff members to ensure all daily routines and medical requirements are met.
Experience is not required as full training will be provided in house for the right individual.
The role requires the carer to work on weekends and bank holidays.
Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged
Key Responsibilities:
- Day shifts, assist client with all aspects of personal care such as washing, toileting, dressing, mobility and any other necessary activities. Light preparation of meals also required.
- Night shifts, be awake during the night and carry out any personal requirements as necessary.
- Complete daily records
Person Specification:
- Be physically able to use moving and handling equipment after training
- Be reliable and trustworthy
- Caring and compassionate attitude
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Work well within a team
- Attention to detail
- Ability to act on own initiative
Hours:
12 hour shift patterns twice a week.
Additional hours available to cover holidays and sickness.
Salary:
£8.25 - £11.25 (depending on shift) rising to £9 - £12 after training
