The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.
It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager.
This is a senior position which will be part of the project management team and the company is looking to appoint a person quickly before the likely start date for the project which is around mid - July and will last for around 9 months.

Key Features of the Role:
Develop and implement health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law and conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
Monitor compliance to policies and laws by employees and operational procedures and inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
The HSE Manager will investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker`s compensation claims.
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
Comply with the reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR) regulations 2013.
Ensure compliance with a loss prevention system
Conduct HSE meetings and report and investigate all incidents related to HSE.
Send off to medical facilities persons injured in the workplace and report to the Company the status of the treatments.
Generate SSH&E effective incident communications and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 standard requirements.
Ensure compliance with colour coding system of materials and equipment and generate and ensure compliance for confined space entry, excavations, motorised heavy equipment, energy isolation, hot works, on, near or over water.
Follow hazard elimination program (HELP)

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally be an accomplished Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager with a Bachelors` Degree in Safety Management or equivalent qualification in Occupation Health and Safety
Understand legal health and safety guidelines and produce reports and developing relevant policies and knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
Health and Safety Manager experience in construction site management experience and able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
Ideally have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.
Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and HSE software.

What`s on Offer?
£40K pro rata on a temporary worker basis, possibly more for an exceptional candidate.
Overtime is a possibility.
Minimum Holidays are expected to be taken from mid- July to November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
