The Company and the Role:
The Business is a privately-owned pub situated just outside of Southampton, in touching distance of the New Forest. The Owners have just recently purchased this stunning pub and own one other local public house.
They are now seeking a great Sous Chef. The position is permanent and full time.
Key Features of the Role:
Newly refurbished and been trading for the last 3 months it has already exceeded their expectations on the number of meals per day, to the point they are in need of growing the team
You will work with an ever changing fresh and vibrant menu, sometimes on your own and sometimes with the help of the team.
As Sous Chef you will need to have management skills to run the kitchen in the Head Chef absence on short term and long term periods.
You need to be a special Sous Chef , somebody with a sleeves rolled-up attitude and a desire to succeed as an important member of the team.
Full driving licence and own reliable transport is required due to the location
Knowledge and Skills:
Be an existing Sous Chef but the Owners will consider a strong Junior Sous Chef looking to make the next step in their career.
Have worked within the pub / gastro pub sector within your career
Experience of high quality food prep and service, exceptional personal standards and a grasp of kitchen culture
Familiar with all current legislations regarding food hygiene, safety, risk assessments etc
A great passion for creating and perfecting dishes.
Used to working with fresh, seasonal ingredients ideally obsessed with classic British pub cuisine
Have a ‘can do’ attitude and ambition to progress your career
Experience in fast paced kitchens
Have good stock take knowledge and competent when placing orders
Possess excellent communication and team skills
What’s on Offer?
A basic salary from £22,000 - £25,000 per annum depending upon your knowledge and skill set
Tips – cash and credit will be issued
Working hours can be varied dependent on time of year and level of business
Mixture of straight and split shifts
Working under a great Head Chef with many year’s experience
Live in may be offered to right candidate but not guaranteed
Driving licence and own reliable transport is required due to the location
