The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global group which provides heavy equipment transportation and maintenance services to the British Army in peacetime and during operations.
The role is for a Forklift Operator / Tyre Fitter and the daily tasks will be split on an average 50/50 basis.
The position is permanent and located at an Army camp in Wiltshire.
Key Features of the Role:
Forklift Duties;
The purpose of the role is to support the Roller Brake Testing operation and includes but is not limited to the following:
Operate a Counterbalance forklift truck and work outside using a forklift truck to position, load and unload 60T weights onto a trailer bed ready for RBT testing.
Daily Inspection of FLT and equipment to ensure safe working order and operation
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleaning of your work area and move stock away from the unloading area.
Tyre Fitter Duties:
Prioritise and manage the workloads at your designated site, including fleet inspections, tyre/wheel removal and fitting and managing minor repairs.
Control and monitor stock and casings, ensuring that these are effectively managed and replace and service truck tyres and complete associated documentation and ensure all stock levels are fully maintained.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
You should be an accomplished FLT Operator with experience of receiving goods into a warehouse and despatching goods out .
Ideally hold a valid counterbalance licence RTITB or equivalent ,however, inhouse training and certification can be offered.
Previous tyre fitting experience is desirable, however, training can be provided.
Full car licence is essential.
Able to work outside during the summer and winter months and a good level of written and verbal communication skills.
What`s on Offer:
This is a salaried position with an annual basic salary of £22 -25K per annum
Hours of work - Monday to Friday 07.00 to 16.30
In addition, there are 28 days` holiday including bank and public holidays increasing to 33 days over 5 years, Stakeholder pension, Life assurance etc.
Tools will be provided as well as a development training plan
