BS6193 Plant Operation and Maintenance Engineer

Location           Salisbury

Salary              £30,000 - £38,000 DOE + benefits

Job Type          Permanent

A Plant Operation & Maintenance Engineer is required to provide the basic operation and maintenance of a small plant site in Salisbury. The Plant Operation & Maintenance Engineer will need to have a mechanically biased background ideally with previous experience in relation to pressure, temperature and flow, however training is provided to the right person. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with working with light supervision. Working hours and schedules are flexible for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Basic operation and maintenance of a small utilities plant, from identification of leaks and minor faults to managing specialist contractors on any faults requiring specialist attention

  • Day to day running of the plant which is largely automated and operates autonomously in the main

  • Source and secure basic supplies for the plant

  • Continuous improvement of the plant

  • Basic housekeeping in the plant area

  • Calibrations of certain instrumentation

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Minimum NVQ level 3 qualifications in either manufacturing, marine or mechanical engineering

  • Has minimum 3 years hands-on mechanical engineering in hydraulics

  • Has some low voltage skills at a diagnostic level

  • Attention to detail

  • Good written and verbal communication

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of steam plant processes

  • Process plant operation expertise and knowledge involving flow, pressure, temperature, and level measurement and control.

Salary:

Up to £38,000 depending on experience
