HQ6152 Public Services Lecturer – Outdoor Education Specialist
Salary: £22,000 - £30,000 DOE
Location: Easton, Norfolk
Hours: 08.30am – 17.00 Monday to Friday
Forces Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced and engaging Public Services Lecturer (Outdoor Education Specialist) to join a further education college within a beautiful countryside environment. The Public Services Lecturer Lecturer will deliver land and water Outdoor Education activities as well as taking the lead in supporting students to complete their Duke of Edinburgh award. A background in Outdoor Education is essential and as you will be delivering expedition modules you will need to be a qualified Mountain Leader with expedition experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- To design and deliver high quality teaching using appropriate and effective methods to cater for the needs of all students.
- To monitor attendance, and assess student progress, to set targets, and provide prompt feedback to students.
- To maintain accurate records of student assessment and progress.
- To motivate students and act as a role model for good behaviours for work; to challenge and manage those falling below our high expectations.
- To take responsibility for the leadership and management of specific courses.
- To maintain and develop technical competence within agreed subject areas, to ensure own academic, vocational or industry experience is kept relevant and up-to-date.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Mountian Leader qualification and expedition experience is essential for this position.
- A backround in Outdoor Education is essential including the ability to deliver land and water-based activities.
- Degree, or significant equivalent experience, in relevant area.
- Successful experience of course leadership.
- Ability to represent the subject area and interest of the College and liaise/negotiate effectively with external agencies and employees as appropriate.
- Experience in teaching a range of abilities and levels.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
- Proven teaching skills with commitment to achieving good or better.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable:
- A Teaching qualification is desirable as full training and the opportunity to gain qualifications through their teaching training course are available.
- Assessing and verifying qualifications.
- A background in Public Services would be useful but is not essential.
- Experience of working with/teaching young people with special needs/LDD.

- Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload whilst meeting deadlines.
