Job Title: Armoury Supervisor

Reports to: Garrison Stores Manager
Key Purpose of the Role: To supervise the maintenance and repair of all Light weapons, Ordnance, Instruments and all associated stores in accordance with Army Equipment Support Publication (AESP) 1000-A-003-013
To supervise the Armoury and the Armoury Workshop teams in the delivery of their daily duties
Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the ADSL Company Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
• Actively promote the Safety First policy by reporting all incidents / accidents to the Helpdesk, whilst ensuring the adoption of safe working practices at all times.
• Manage / work within the company safe systems of work for all work
• related activities.
• To maintain, inspect and repair all Light Weapons inclusive of all types of Rifles, Pistols, Mortars, Heavy and Grenade Machine Guns including their mountings and associated stores.
• Examination of Ordnance.
• To maintain, inspect and repair JAVELIN and all associated stores.
• To maintain, inspect and repair all instruments associated with Light Weapons and Ordnance.
• Adherence to the technical reporting procedures in operation within the relevant AESPs and Joint Services Publications (JSPs).
• Advise users in the maintenance for all Light Weapons and their Ancillaries.
• Inspect and repair all Non-Service weapons held by Warminster Garrison.
• Ensure workshop is kept in a clean and safe working environment.
• Ensure tools are maintained in good working order.
• Reporting any instances of neglect or misuse involving unit weapons
• Carry out preliminary investigation of Equipment Failures.
• Maintain JAMES for all Light Weapons, Ordnance and Instruments.
• As instructed by Line management, to carry out any duties which are reasonably related to the role.
Qualifications Essential:
• Qualified as a Class 1 Armourer/Engineer or completed an apprenticeship in an appropriate trade which is acceptable to the recognised Authority.
• JAMES qualified.
Desirable:
• A good understanding of Army Equipment Support Publications and Joint Services Publications relevant to role.
• An Engineering background.
Experience & Knowledge: Essential:
• Proven supervisory experience
• Possesses excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills both orally and written
• Extensive experience in Equipment repair.
• Clean driving Licence B Category.
Desirable:
• Be familiar with COSHH
• Good knowledge of stores accounting and operating procedures
• IOSH Trained
Skills:
• A good team leader, able to prioritise own work as well as provide assistance with the work of others when required.
• Be flexible in approach and diligent in meeting deadlines.
• Focusing on customer and service delivery.
