Description :
Urgent requirement! An independent school in High Wycombe is seeking a Head of Site Security to ensure that the School is secure and safe. The Head of Site Security will be required to work closely with other departments around the School and will need to build good working relationships in a professional manner. The role will also involve elements of school caretaking particularly outside normal teaching hours and at weekends. Accommodation is provided.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the activities of the security team (Estates and Operations staff), including the drawing up of rosters, ensuring appropriate staff coverage as necessary
- Management of communications equipment (radios) and appropriate training for the team
- Management of policies and procedures in relation to security, locking up, management of keys, access control, alarm systems and the operation of the School CCTV
- Carry out security procedures for all school buildings and grounds
- Open the School premises in the mornings and close in the evenings, including gates, doors, windows, fire exits, etc., for the purpose of school use, lettings, out of school hour’s events, maintenance and emergency services
- Activate and de-activate the School alarm systems
- Liaise with the emergency services including calling out if required

Person Specification:
Essential:
- A valid clean driving licence
- Have previous experience in security processes and procedures
- Team player, additionally able to take initiative particularly when the sole representative of the school on site during ‘out of hours’ periods
- Physically fit
- The successful candidate should be able to evidence their reliability and be amenable to some flexibility in working hours according to the needs of the School calendar
- Have excellent organisation and time management
- Have keen eye for detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A willingness to assist and deal confidently with staff. Courteous and helpful to all Girls, Parents and other visitors at all times
- Training and certification in Health and Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment and First Aid (this can be completed in post)
Desirable:
- Swimming Pool ISRM plant operation certificate desirable
Hours:
40 hours/week (standard working pattern - Tue and Wed taken as ‘weekends’)
