The Company and the Role:
The Company has been operating for over 40 years and they supply, install, commission and maintain both digital and analogue radio communication systems and is one of the UK`s leading independent radio distributors.
They have achieved unrivalled growth in the sector including the supply of radio equipment to UK fire and rescue services, and the supply and maintenance of equipment to the Ministry of Defence in Germany, Gibraltar and Cyprus.
Currently seeking an addition Field Engineer to be based in either Leeds or Manchester covering the North of England and reporting to the Engineering Manager. Your role will be to: install, maintain and service a range of PMR / DMR radios for their clients. The position is permanent.
Key Features of the Role:
The key tasks will be to carry out planned engineering installation work, respond to customer breakdowns and provide technical support for both the Company and its customers.
Attendance and completion of planned installation work, including vehicle and systems installation.
Attendance and rectification of customer breakdowns which includes participation in the engineering call out pager.
Supporting Motorola WAVE for customers.
Completing radio programming, fleet planning, site surveys and report writing.
Knowledge and Skills:
To be successful in this role you must have been an accomplished Field Engineer with experience of PMR / DMR products, have experience in fault finding across a multitude of telecommunication platforms, RF installation experience. Useful in the rile would be an RF Product Manufacturer and IP Network Management Training or Certification.
The role would suit a candidate with a proven track record working within this role, ideally in Radio Communications (Radio Engineer, Radio Technician, RF Engineer or Army / RN / RAF / Civilian equivalent).
You will hold a full UK driving licence and either hold a CRB or being willing / able to obtain one.
You will have experience of fault finding across a multitude of telecommunication platforms and have excellent planning and organisational skills.
What`s on Offer:
Basic salary is £35k per annum. In addition, there is a company car type TBC.
Other benefits include 21 days paid holiday rising to 25 accruing from length of service plus bank and public holidays, life assurance of 4 times basic salary, compulsory pension provision etc.
