HQ5440               Field Service Engineer   

Salary:                 £25,000 - £35,000 DOE (+ overtime available)

Location:             Milton Keynes (+ travelling throughout UK & occasionally overseas)

Hours:                  9 – 5.30pm 37.5 hours per week

A highly successful and dynamic company is seeking a similarly minded Field Service Engineer. The Field Service Engineer will have completed a time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and must be professional and understand the importance of upholding company policy and practice at all times.

Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Royal Marines) however all applications will be considered.

This position will require the Field Service Engineer to travel throughout the UK and therefore a degree of flexibility is essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission new equipment at the customer’s site
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on site
  • Assist with writing of customer quotes
  • Handle telephone enquiries from new and existing customers
  • Offer technical advice and support to colleagues within the team
  • Liaise with customers to rectify potential issues with projects and offer solutions
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of existing suppliers and potential company suppliers
  • Support the company in gaining accreditation for ISO9001
  • Assist with development of the sales team through sharing of technical expertise
  • Identify customer initial need and future requirements and offer support on projects

Skills and Qualifications;

  • Proven experience in Electrical/Avionics background
  • Good electrical knowledge

Previous experience with DC Starter Systems, Battery Chargers, Frequency Converters, Lift back up units, UPS and GPUs would be an advantage, however this is not essential as full training will be provided.
