An experienced video journalist and visual storyteller is sought 2.5-3 days per week to begin with, to deliver high quality, authentic television-style films with key clients in the construction, new homes and NHS/healthcare sectors. As a video journalist you will embed yourself in the client organisations with direct access to people across their business. Your objective is to develop fly on the wall, behind the scenes programmes that uncover the truth and heart of a story that help promote and sell new communities and homes. Your video journalism will also require you to film creative stock footage of towns and cities, provide creative ideas to the wider newsroom team and assist in improving production productivity. You will be working for a company that places excellent customer service at its heart and this requires you to provide a personal, respectful service whilst capturing the elements of a story in a relaxed and engaging way. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Account Manager for a major client (medium term)
  • Create beautiful short documentary stories which help educate, entertain and engage a variety of audiences online, in training seminars and for use in multiple environments
  • Produce films for release on social media, often within a few hours of a shoot and with the client present during an edit
  • Conduct in-depth interviews to find authentic stories and produce fly on the wall programming
  • Look for new stories, case studies, and new story leads constantly
  • Capture stock footage across regions with shots of streets, people, signage, towns, cities and local amenities
  • Understand the client’s business models and latest news relevant to their business as a potential source for stories. Read/watch their annual reports
  • Liaise with PR teams to encourage and support distribution of the stories via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc. (training provided)
  • Use of cameras from Canon 5D’s, Sony’s to Go Pros
  • Editing via FCPX with hard drives and via the cloud
  • Manage FCPX project files, back-ups, edit suites, content management and client files
  • Photoshop editing images
  • Understand and adhere strictly to all Health and Safety guidelines and processes.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card/qualification/past experience of making programs, conducting risk assessments prior to shoots, and shooting in construction, hazardous environments from time to time.
