The Company and the Role:
Amazing permanent Operations Manager role  in one of London`s one-stop shop, for event catering equipment hire, join their new warehouse team as  number 2 to the Branch Manager.
This is a newly created role and the role is based in West London.
You will join a professional and knowledgeable team that are flexible, hands on and dedicated to treating all of their kit with the highest care and attention.
The Branch Manager is the sales force behind the growth of their London business, and as the Operations Manager and second in charge you will bring the People Management, Strong Operational Support and Leadership skills to the operation, along with a robust `get stuck in` attitude.
Using your knowledge and experience within logistics and operational support, you will oversee the day to day running of the Warehouse, Logistics and Maintenance departments.
As an overview you will ensure  that all hire equipment is returned, collected, inspected, cleaned, maintained, safety checked, and then ensuring all future client orders are planned for, accurately picked and transported to and from client sites effectively and efficiently.

Key Features of the Role:
As Operations Manager you will have 3 direct reports, and you will interact with internal stakeholders such as Department Managers, Head Office Operations Director (off site) and the London based Sales Team.
You will manage a professional team of 12 across the various internal departments based in the London Warehouse, as well as deputising for the Branch Manager when required.
Your budget responsibility will include transport costs, manpower, consumables, managing logistics, client order fulfilment, and equipment levels.
Your key accountabilities will be  planning and prioritising, equipment returns, stock count on and off site, maintaining a high standard of cleaned and maintained equipment, (safety checked and certified where required), accurate order picking, route planning, and logistical transport.
Making sure all legal requirements are adhered to, health and safety, driver regulations, fire regulations etc.
Your other key accountabilities are planning rotas, reviewing workloads, manpower assessments (recruitment, training, induction, performance management and disciplinary procedures), managing Warehouse Assistants, Drivers, Maintenance Engineers and respective Team Leaders.

Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Operations Manager with experience ideally gained  in a  hire sector, catering equipment, foodservice or events logistics.
Specifically, you will have gained operations experience in three key areas:
People Management, ideally a team of 10-20, in a business with about 80 FTE.
Organisational Leadership.
Working flexibility and a robust `Get Stuck in` work ethos, (due to high seasonal peaks where the expectation of the company is for you to put in extra hours).
You must have proven experience, knowledge and a track record of managing a warehouse operation and currently managing a logistics department and team.
You must have  experience recruiting, inducting, training, and performance managing, as well as carrying out disciplinary procedures.
You must be able to show a disciplined approach to all planning and paperwork, with strong prioritising skills.
You must be robust enough to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, which has 2 seasonal peaks per year, and a high demand on you and your team`s time and resources, sometimes working longer hours, weekends and bank holidays.
You must be an effective communicator who is able to talk to a variety of audiences from Warehouse Assistants to Director level, and Clients. Your communication skills will be assessed through your CV application and telephone interview.
You must have a full UK driving licence and a Forklift licence is desirable.
You must be computer literate, able to write up and understand reports and data in regards to all aspects of your role.

What`s on Offer?
This amazing Operations Manager opportunity comes with a basic salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 basic.
Your core hours will be Monday to Friday 7:30 till 16:00 (but this can vary due to the events circuit you will be involved in, and the peak season around May-July and Nov-Dec).
