Complementing the fresh ingredients used in the restaurant`s menu items from their own gardens and greenhouses. Creating new guest experiences with passion and delivering on expectations. It can be challenging at times but extremely rewarding.

The Company is currently looking for a resolute, organised Assistant Bar Manager (aka a Rock `n` Roll Drinks Nerd!) to join their FOH Drinks Team at one of the most exciting award-winning Hotel restaurants in Dorset. The position is permanent and full time.

Key Features of the Role:

  • Assistant Bar Manager duties and responsibilities include working on the bar, providing quality service to guests, with a professional attitude.
  • Assisting and supporting the rest of the hotel and restaurant management team in the daily running of the bar, overseeing day to day bar operations, and managing the team.
  • Developing your knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and drinks.
  • Interacting with guests, making drinks, cocktails, and pairing wines, recommendations and imparting knowledge and understanding to guests and team members.
  • Engage with guests in a quirky, non-stuffy, more informal environment.
  • Ensuring all areas and equipment are properly stocked, maintained, cleaned, and set up ready for service.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

As Assistant Bar Manager you must have a can-do attitude, reflective of the company`s brand.

Proactive and motivated approach, developing a strong product knowledge to pass onto the other members of your team.

Exposure to mixology, cocktails, wines, spirits and drink pairings in a customer service or hospitality sector.

Basic catering and hospitality experience supported by industry qualifications and or training or be studying for your industry qualifications.

Experience is preferred however a can-do customer service attitude and positive personality can be built on, through dedicated training and career development.

Reliable transport is a must (car or motorbike) to get to the venue, as there are no public transport links and no live-in options available.

Experience of working in a supervisory and or team management catering or hospitality environment is preferred, along with bar operations experience.

Basic annual salary £26K, judged on interview, trial, and experience.

Tronc (service charges) up to £400pm during busiest months available on top of basic salary, estimated about £2,500pa.

Working 45 hours per week, 5 days a week, mix of shifts, with some weekends off.
