The Company and the Role:
The Company is a high end Estate Resort & Villa complex which has a unique collection of standalone villas and larger residences along with one-and-two bedroom suites.
Located on a 1200-acre estate that benefits from a wide variety of amenities including four beaches, four restaurants and bars, a championship 18-hole golf course, a complimentary kids and teens club open daily, three tennis courts, lit for night play, non-motorized water sports, hiking trail and a fitness centre.
They are now seeking a Utilities Manager who is responsible for the electrical, water utility and workshop departments. Focus is on ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient supply of water and electricity to all connected customers and the upkeep of the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Key Features of the Role:
- Focus is on ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient supply of water and electricity to all connected customers.
- Initial requirement is the setting up of new operating / maintenance procedures, improving existing recordkeeping, reporting and assistance with the general restructure of the utility departments.
- Manage the day to day operations of the electrical, water and workshop departments.
- Direct and co-ordinate the installation and repairs of electrical power equipment, electrical controls, pipe work, pumps, desalination plant, waste-water treatment plant.
- Quality control of all work completed by staff and/or subcontracted labour.
- Co-ordinate response teams in the event of an unplanned shutdown and constant review of systems and processes in search of ways to lower costs.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Be an accomplished Utilities Manager, ideally with experience in the hotel and resort sector.
- Strong background in electrical power and control technology and familiar with water technology, such as pump and pipe installations and waste-water treatment systems
- Working understanding and experience in planned preventative maintenance systems and management of small projects
- Demonstrable skills in leading and able to train and coach local workforce
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to improvise
- Excellent IT/ pc, project management and decision-making skills
What’s on Offer?
The basic salary is paid in USD and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition, there is an annual bonus which is also paid in USD and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. A company vehicle is also provided along with a mobile phone.
Free accommodation is provided along with all utility bills paid.
Holiday entitlement is 24 days per year laundry, local transport, medical insurance and sick pay are also provided.
In addition, all Ex-Pat employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by the Company. A relocation allowance is also payable.
