The Company and the Role:
The Company provides Construction, Architecture and Maintenance Services and is located on an idyllic island in The Caribbean.
They design and create buildings for the Community, Government and Hotel and Resorts sectors.
They are now seeking aDesalination Plant Operator. This is a permanent role.
Reporting into the Utilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the monitoring, maintaining and operating desalination plant equipment to ensure optimal plant efficiency.
Key Features of the Role:
- Operates, maintains and monitor process equipment and instruments in the desalination plant.
- Monitoring of system operational parameters with the ability to adjust as per set guidelines.
- Ensure post treatment water parameters are monitored and maintained as per set guidelines.
- Data logging and interpretation of system operating parameters.
- Perform daily plant housekeeping and equipment cleaning to ensure accurate performance good aesthetics.
- Perform post treatment water tests as directed.
- Assist with plant repairs and maintenance when required.
- Willing to work on a shift basis, including overnight.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- You should be an accomplished Desalination Plant Operator with experience of SWRO desalination plants.
- You should have a working knowledge of the functions and operations of a variety of plant equipment such as PD, centrifugal and multi-stage pumps and diesel engines.
- Possess good communication skills and Interpersonal skills.
- Certificate in the operation of water systems
- CVQ or TVET Certification in Mechanics a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Proactive, hands-on approach
- Ability to work in a remote location with limited resources
What’s on Offer?
The basic salary is paid in USD and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
Free accommodation is provided along with all utility bills paid. Free meals in the staff canteen.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days per year, laundry and medical insurance are also provided.
In addition, all Ex-Pat employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by the Company. A relocation allowance is also payable.
