They are seeking a Deli Manager. This role reports to the Foodhall Manager.

Key Features of the Role:

  • Responsible for the deli counter operation of this fantastic new Foodhall & Kitchen. This top of the range serve over counter includes cheese supplied by Neals Yard Dairy London, Delicatessen, Veggie Butchery, and wonderful Patisserie (including doughnut making theatre).
  • Liaising with the Operations Manager and Director you will select the finest produce and showcase through wonderful fresh visual displays. Keeping the Deli counter abundant yet minimizing waste will be key to success.
  • Managing your department`s rostering through the staff scheduling system and being fully responsible for your wage spend and, achieving the highest standards of food safety will be a pre-requisite of the role
  • You will be responsible for your departments profit and loss, utilizing a costings system to maximize GP and an EPOS system to assist in identifying sales opportunities and exceeding targets
  • Deliver regular training to the whole team, embracing new ideas and working together to achieve consistently high standards.
  • Putting people and planet first is vital to the company`s measure of success, therefore you will head up action groups, to innovate and participate in new ways of working which helps deliver their mission.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • You should ideally be an accomplished Deli Manager
  • Your love and knowledge of food will shine through, selling and serving with personality is a must for this exciting role.
  • This is a customer-facing service role, so you should have an outgoing personality so you can entertain and wow customers daily.
  • You will have a passion for great seasonal local food, preparing and supplying all the deli has to offer, to the brand new, purpose-built open kitchen with 150 covers, including a gas and woodfired Pizza Theatre
  • You should be outgoing and confident, able to speak to groups, participating in demonstration days and food events.
  • You must have access to reliable transport to get to the venue for your work shifts

What`s on Offer?

This is a new and challenging position within the company with lots of potential for the right candidate.

Basic salary is in a range of £10.50 - £11.50 per hour depending upon experience and skill set.

Hours are 40 per week with additional paid hours to cover holiday etc.

Hours of work will be between 8am to 7pm so in the main 7 to 3 or 8 to 4 is typical, with 2 days off in the week and 1 weekend off in 4.

There are no split shifts

31 days holiday including bank holidays plus 1 day for your birthday and 1 day extra per year for 5 years.

A profit related bonus scheme will be introduced in 2022/23.
