The Company is one of the largest Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) suppliers in the UK and has over 30 years’ experience providing alternative energy solutions to domestic and commercial customers.
Part of a major plc, a sales, marketing, distribution and business support services group headquartered in Europe, the Company is a highly successful business that places people at the heart of their organisation.
The Company is seeking an additional HGV Driver Class 2 + ADR to deliver cylinders (LPG) from their depot in the Southampton area. The position is permanent.
The Company is very supportive to the ex-military community, so applications are welcome from military leavers or ex-military personnel.
Key Features of the Role:
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally be an accomplished HGV 2 Driver with an ADR in ‘Packages’ with minimum Class 2 gasses. (Tanks is advantageous)
Possess HGV 2 Category C or C + E licence with a Driver Qualification Card (DCPC).
A Digital tacho card is essential and previous experience in a similar role in the fuel industry is an advantage.
Be a keen team player with a focus on providing excellent customer service, have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Be familiar with health and safety procedures as they relate to the work of a Tanker Driver.
Be familiar with safe loading and unloading procedures.
Be familiar with defensive driving techniques and have a safe driving record.
Be reliable, flexible and hardworking and honest and trustworthy.
A flexible approach to working hours is essential.
What’s on Offer:
The basic salary will be dependent upon your experience and the qualifications you hold.
The working week is a 45-hour week from 07.00 to 15.00 Monday to Friday.
Overtime to be worked on an “as and when” basis and every other Saturday in Winter.
Holiday entitlement of 33 days pro rata inclusive of bank and public holidays
Death in Service insurance and a pension scheme.
Progression onto Tanker driving.
Fully committed training, development and refreshment courses, planned each year both in-house and externally supported by the Company
