The Company and the Role:
The Company provides Construction, Architecture and Maintenance Services and is located on an idyllic island in The Caribbean.
They design and create buildings for the Community, Government and Hotel and Resorts sectors.
They are now seeking aHeavy Equipment Operator. This is a permanent role.
You will be responsible for operating several types of heavy equipment to perform construction related activities in a safe and effective manner and will carry out basic mechanical tasks and assist senior mechanics.
Key Features of the Role:
- Operates heavy equipment as directed
- Performs basic equipment maintenance to ensure proper operation
- Notify the Workshop Supervisor of any technical problems concerning defects of the equipment
- Follows instructions on safety policies and procedures at all time
- Deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or require and is safely and securely stored
- Advise the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
- Participate in routine maintenance as required
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- You should be an accomplished Heavy Plant Operator, able to operate single axel trucks in a safe and responsible manner
- Able to operate front end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of heavy equipment such as water, sewer and garbage trucks
- Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Possess basic mechanical skills
- Have good client service and public interaction skills
- Have effective verbal and listening communications skills, able to communicate effectively in English
- Able to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records
- Willing to work flexible hours
What’s on Offer?
The basic salary is paid in USD and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
Free accommodation is provided along with all utility bills paid. Free meals in the staff canteen.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days per year, laundry and medical insurance are also provided.
In addition, all Ex-Pat employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by the Company. A relocation allowance is also payable.
