They are seeking a passionate permanent Deli Chef and Manager to join their award-winning hotel restaurant located in central Southampton.
As a Deli Chef and Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen team, as well as the fresh food items that are displayed and sold at the delicatessen counter.
Ensuring all standards are maintained on made to order, take away and buffet items. You will be responsible for organising food preparation and the deli counter display.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferable, but above all you need to be reliable and committed.
Key Features of the Role:
First and foremost, as a working Deli Chef, menu items will change daily as produce is grown and sourced locally, you could be making from scratch, homemade pies, soups, fresh salads, baking cakes and creating desserts.
Secondly as a Manager you will be managing a small team of Chefs and potentially some front of house staff when it comes to service, taking and running food orders.
The deli counter is front and centre, a focal point for all guests coming to the restaurant, you are expected to positively engage with them face to face.
All menu items are prepared and or cooked from fresh every day, Breakfast starts at 9am, lunch is served from midday and supper is served until 8pm.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Accomplished Deli Chef with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level, producing a variety of deli counter food items from scratch.
You must have experience managing a small team of Chefs, Front of House management is a great additional but not essential.
Due to the compact nature of the kitchen and deli counter, cooking and preparation space is at a premium, so you have to be creative and organised when planning your day.
Customer facing and guest engagement is essential at this unique venue, you are the first point of contact for guests, and you will need to answer questions, give advice and recommendations. There is nowhere to hide in this kitchen.
Quirky and creative ideas for menu items are vital, you need to be able to keep new and exciting, locally sourced and seasonal produce flowing through the deli counter.
The breakfast offering will also reflect the deli counter approach with breakfast options to pick up and take away, so you must be confident cooking a range of breakfast items.
What is on Offer?
Amazing full-time permanent Deli Chef and Manager opportunity in a creative, fresh food deli counter kitchen and restaurant.
Basic annual salary for the Deli Chef and Manager is up to £27K, judged on interview, trial, and experience.
Tronc (service charges) available on top of basic salary estimated about £2,500pa.
Working 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, mix of shifts, with some weekends off.
