The Company and the Role:
The Company provides Construction, Architecture and Maintenance Services and is located on an idyllic island in The Caribbean.
They design and create buildings for the Community, Government and Hotel and Resorts sectors.
They are now seeking a Water Department Manager. This is a permanent role.
Reporting into the Utilities Manager, you will plan, monitor and control all activities and duties performed by the Water Department, ensuring that the highest standards are achieved and maintained.
Key Features of the Role:
- Ensure operations at water production plants and WWTP are followed based on established procedures to meet quality standards.
- Repair and maintain distribution system including pipelines, pumps and tanks.
- Solve problems that may occur in water production, distribution and WWTP processes.
- Conduct data analyses of all areas of the operation to monitor losses and prepare reports
- Organize the Department`s Employees` workload, in order to maximize efficacy productivity.
- Monitor staff numbers and related costs; conducts staff assessments, motivates, trains and identifies areas for further development and improvement.
- Control all Departmental costs and revenues. Prepares Department monthly invoices.
- Verify availability and requisitions of all parts, tools and equipment needed for the operations. Arranges proper storage and maintains relevant inventories.
- Ensure preventive and planned maintenance programs are implemented.
- Build strong working relationships and liaise with other department Managers, customers and alike, on issues concerning the services and operations of the Department.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Be an accomplished Water Treatment Specialist ideally with Certifications in Water Production and Wastewater Treatment
- Possess in depth knowledge in Desalination Plant and WWTP Distribution Systems with maintenance experience.
- Significant supervisory experience in the water sector
- Must have a valid driver`s license
- Demonstrable skills in leading and able to train and coach local workforce
- Excellent communicator skills (Verbal and Written)
- Good IT / PC skills, able to use MS Office
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Proactive, hands-on approach
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a remote location with limited resources
What`s on Offer?
The basic salary is paid in USD and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition, there is an annual bonus which is also paid in USD and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. A company vehicle is also provided along with a laptop and a mobile phone.
Free accommodation is provided along with all utility bills paid. Free meals in the staff canteen.
Holiday entitlement is 24 days per year, laundry, local transport, medical insurance and sick pay are also provided.
In addition, all Ex-Pat employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by the Company. A relocation allowance is also payable.
