A large veterinary company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to be based in the Kent area. The Chief Operating Officer will have previous experience working for a similar organisation in turnover and size. In addition, the COO will excellent people-facing, communication and organisational skills.
The COO will oversee the operations and establish policies to promote the companys culture and vision. Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a close working relationship with the directors
- Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
- Establish policies and procedures that promote company culture and vision
- Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance etc.)
- Lead employees by example to encourage maximum performance and dedication
- Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics
- Write and submit reports to the directors in all matters of importance
- Manage relationships with partners/vendors
Person Specification: Knowledge/Experience/Skills
- Proven experience as a COO or relevant role in a £10 million+ turnover organisation
- Previous working experience within a professional service sector
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
- In-depth knowledge of business functions such as HR, Finance and Marketing
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Problem-solving mindset
- Full UK drivers licence
- Salary: £70k - £80k depending on exp.
