Description :

An independent research and development company specialising in multiple sectors is seeking a Project Engineer to complete project work in accordance with project briefs that will improve quality of their customers products.

The Project Engineer will evaluate specifications, compile test plans, carry out laboratory work and liaise with clients. It is essential the Project Engineer have either a degree in a relevant field or relevant experience in a technical field, have excellent people facing and communication skills, and be a self-starter. Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in accordance with the project quotation and clients requirements

• Take instructions from the appointed project manager regarding the scope and detail required

• Use engineering skills to best effect for the company

• Maintain accurate records of all work completed

• Liaise with clients to promote Companys work and capabilities

• Assist with the preparation of quotations

• Liaise with clients and suppliers

• Work in a responsible, tidy and safe manner at all times regardless of where the work is being completed

• Keep the project manager informed of any critical issues that may affect the project, personnel or the Company in general

• Competently use IT in order to maintain files, operate appliances and communicate with people and companies as required

• Ensure continued professional development in your subject area

Person Specification: Essential:

• Minimum undergraduate degree in a technical field such as engineering or science etc. or extensive experience in a field

• Good teamwork but able to work on own initiative

• Ability to plan and manage your own workload/project area

• Flexible to overtime

• Be professional and discreet

• Excellent communication and people skills

• Be self-motivated and conscientious

• Good IT skills

• Hold a UK driving licence

Desirable:

 A knowledge of heat interface units / heat networks and/or heat pump technology would be an advantage

Hours:  37.5 hrs per week, flexi-time hours through working week.

 Early finishes on Friday

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE
