The Company and the Role:
Amazing multi award-winning Gastro Pub group want proven and passionate Head Chef on permanent basis to join their kitchen team on site near Gravesend, Live In available and good financial package.
The Company has gone and done it again and won another foodservice award, to add to their other important accolades, which they are immensely proud to have received.
This was down to their genuine hard working and trusted kitchen teams across their 8 venues, and the Company will offer you a brigade structure to continue the trend.
Each venue offers the statutory gastro pub classic menu at its core however the opportunity to bring in creative, new modern or classic menu items is actively encouraged.
The venue works with locally sourced fresh food, offering a range of menu items with various cuisine influences, with some venues offering distinct smoked items at reasonable prices.
As Head Chef you are expected to nurture and develop your brigade of Chefs to achieve similar award-winning status, supported by the senior management team and Head Office.
Key Features of the Role:
All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible.
Head Chef is expected to set the highest standards of food quality and consistency, which the team should aspire to and then actually executive even in your absence.
Great team player, coach, mentor, manager, leading by example with good organisational and professional communication skills, helping your team develop their careers.
Maintaining calm and professional brigade during peak and busy service times, as well as ensuring down time is utilised as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Ensuring brand standards are met by each Chef in your brigade, so each dish is prepared to the same high standard consistently, in both presentation and taste.
Coming up with creative alternative and seasonal dishes for the menu outside the core menu items.
Engage and interact with other Managers to make sure the business is profitable, tracking stock, staffing needs, reports and suppliers during meetings and appraisals.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Essentially an accomplished Head Chef with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level. You must have your own reliable transport to get to the venue.
Worked in a similar Gastro Pub or restaurant-based environment full time, and able to work both straight and split shifts in a busy kitchen environment.
Either professional catering qualification or certificates would be ideal, however proven employment tenures and career development will be considered as an alternative.
Experience managing a team of 4-10, recruiting, developing and coaching is a must.
Exposure dealing with business support and administration and in-house or MS Office computer systems is ideally preferred.
Any Pastry Chef experience would be an added benefit but not a core requirement, and Senior Sous Chefs or similar levels looking to make their next step up will be considered.
Branded kitchen menu experience is ideal due to the core range of menu items, but someone who has Specials and menu item creation experience will be considered

This opportunity as a Head Chef pays between £30K - £35K as a basic annual salary.
