Job Details
A Cargo Surveyor is required to join our client’s surveying division team in Sidcup. The Cargo Surveyor will be handling all aspects of marine cargo surveying, including cause, nature and extent of damage, loss prevention, theft investigations, contaminations and more. It is essential you have a marine or logistics background and have a good understanding of how cargo works, how it can be damaged and how to prevent damage. Training will be provided in relation to Incoterms and report writing. You must have a clean and current driving licence, have good IT skills and excellent communication skills.
Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.

- Investigate cargo loss or damage
- Provide technical and professional advice
- Estimate cost of cargo
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Have proven work experience in Marine and/or Logistical sectors
- Have a full clean driving licence
- Be computer literate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Have previous report writing experience
