The Company and the Role:
Great opportunity for a permanent Head Receptionist in a fantastic niche Hotel in Newbury within easy commute of the train station, recently refurbished and busy 3-Star hotel with a modern and homely feel.
This former coaching inn turned 3-Star Hotel caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they also provide private functions and corporate event catering on site, as well as drawing in tourist trade and local dinners.
The Hotel owners are looking to bolster their Hotels vibrant and successful private events, themed functions and corporate events, increased footfall, online booking and marketing.
The Hotel completed a full kitchen and restaurant make over and revamp, giving you a great new competitive and vibrant opportunity to push the venue to more awards for excellence.

Key Features of the Role:
As Head Receptionist you will be expected to manage the reception and housekeeping team, managing all REZLYNKS bookings, rates and room inventory, ensuring that the Hotel runs as close to maximum occupancy as possible.
Responsible for training, monitoring and motivating the team, making sure they provide great customer service, and approach their shift responsibilities in a detailed and effective manner.
Managing the Front of House PMS system (Welcome Hotels Software), ensuring the daily figures and balances are correctly processed and the banking is completed.
Ensure the Ledger accounts are invoices correctly and Company procedures followed.
Communicating effectively with the third-party travel operators and business agents. Processing commission invoices in an efficient and timely manner.

Knowledge and Skills:
As Head Receptionist you will need both knowledge and experience having ideally worked in a similar 3-Star Hotel or higher.
You must have worked in a similar sized Hotel which has 50 - 60 rooms and can accommodate up to 130 function attending guests or delegates.
Head Receptionist or Hotel Duty Manager experience is essential for this role, plus knowledge and understanding of reception, guest management and customer service excellence in a Hotel work environment.
You must be emotionally robust to handle a busy and pressured environment where the rewards are personal satisfaction and pride, as well as dealing with guest feedback and reviews.
You must have supervised or managed front of house hotel and support teams, as well as carried out training and development of your own career and others in your team.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism are also key basic requirements.
A current knowledge and understanding of booking systems, Front of House PMS systems (Welcome Hotels Software), REZLYNKS, room rates and inventory management is essential.
You must have experience compiling and understanding reports using Excel, Word and other relevant software and experience dealing with 3rd party travel operators and business agents.

What`s on Offer?
Head Receptionist will be considered for a basic annual salary up to £25,000, which will be assessed at interview and trial, plus shared tips.
Working up to 45 hours 5 days per week across morning and / or night shifts depending on the business needs.
No live-in option available, however there is free parking and the hotel is within walking distance of the train station.
Full time permanent position working in an award-winning 3-Star Hotel.
Career progression within the group and their multiple hotel and restaurant sites across the south coast.
20 days` holiday + bank holidays. Reduced group hotel tariffs.
