Job Details
A multi-national company is looking for a Yard Supervisor to work at their yard in the Brighton area. Yard Supervisors must have experience in two of the following areas: Crane Operation, Forklift truck Operations, Traffic management or Oxygen/Acetylene Gas cutting. This is a fast-paced and challenging work environment that would suit a candidate with a positive attitude who doesn’t shy away from a hard days’ work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing a team of 8 yard workers
- Liaising with Management to prioritize work for the day
- Communicate progress or issues to Management and your team
- Maintain and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements on site
- Monitor and keep accurate daily records of operations
- Organise, check and prepare loads for dispatch
- To ensure all PPE issued is maintained and kept to a high standard
- To provide back up and cover for all operational duties within the yard, as allocated by Management
Person Specification:
Candidates must have experience at least two of the following
- Crane Operation (slinger/signaller)
- Forklift truck Operations (any type)
- Traffic management (as it pertains to a busy yard with vehicle/pedestrian traffic)
- Oxygen/Acetylene Gas cutting
Other Essentials:
- Proven leadership skills
- Good communications skills
- Prioritising important roles
Desirable:
- Specific Forklift Truck licence
- Qualified Crane Supervisor
- Oxygen/Acetylene Gas cutting certificate
