Description :

A leading provider of transport & safety training in the UK are seeking a Dangerous Goods Specialist to join their team as a Trainer / Consultant. Ideally the Dangerous Goods Specialist will have a combination of qualifications and knowledge in dangerous goods for land, maritime and air sectors such as ADR, DGSA, IMDG and IATA. Continuous professional development will be required to help maintain industry developments. Although this job has typical working hours, it is essential that the Trainer/Consultant is flexible towards the hours as there will be work away from home and possible work requirements outside of normal hours.

Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, or Royal Navy) are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver courses to a variety of organisations and companies in specialist transport, dangerous goods and safety areas that includes ADR, DGSA, IMDG, IATA and other specialised Dangerous Goods.
  • Provide DGSA consultancy to clients that range from small chemical distribution firms to major blue-chip companies and organisations such as the NHS.

Person Specification:

  • Experienced in delivering training courses in Air, Land or Maritime dangerous goods
  • Have relevant qualifications and knowledge in ADR, DGSA, IMDG, and IATA
  • Have a strong understanding of dangerous goods regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ideally have operational experience across land, sea and air transportation
  • Teaching / Instruction qualification
  • Be approachable, friendly and flexible

Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) + overtime
