As a Senior Systems Engineer your remit is within the Surveillance Systems business, to develop and deliver Company and Customer Funded systems projects, based upon state-of-the-art technology.
Your activities will include all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle from `System Concept` through to `Delivery and Acceptance`, including `Bid Support`, `System Design` and `System Integration`.
Key Features of the Role:
Senior Systems Engineer will be expected to understand a range of Engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical and Electrical) as well as being able to communicate to all internal stakeholders and external customers the process from start to finish. Including expectations and challenges.
Systems Engineers will be required to complete system designs and integration tests. Using their understanding of Systems and Product lifecycles from concept through to delivery.
You will need to prove your work adaptability and flexibility, to apply your skills, knowledge and experience across a number of different projects and products.
The Company is looking for someone with a desire to investigate and utilise new technologies, processes and methods.
Expectation to travel within the UK and overseas at short notice as part of the role.
Knowledge and Skills:
Current UK resident for the last 5 years and able to confirm proof of address, as well as being either a GB or EU passport holder. A clean UK driving licence and own vehicle. Unfortunately, Visa / Sponsored candidates cannot be considered due to background and security check compliance requirements.
Accomplished Systems Engineer with experience in system designs, integration and test with an understanding of Systems and `whole product lifecycle` (concept, generation, concept demonstration, development, production, and in-service support).
Understanding of a range of engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical and Electrical supported by both practical and theoretical, backed up by either a degree level qualification in Engineering / Mathematics / Physics, or relevant equivalent work-based experience.
Clear and current understanding of Radar Systems is desirable, as well as a working knowledge of developing systems, using communication protocols is very desirable such as (RS485, RS232, TCP-IP, Canbus etc.)
Having led multi-skilled engineering teams and delivering engineering packages of work to time, cost and quality.
A current Member of a Professional Engineering Institution (e.g. IMechE, IET, INCOSE).
Other key knowledge and skills that are desirable by the Company are product development for Naval Platforms, experience of working with or on navigation equipment.
You must be able to carry out the physical requirements of the job role.
