The Company and the Role:
The Company is a multi-site operation working across the UK performing servicing and repairs on Escalators and Travelators with a large proportion of the work being carried out on site at customer`s premises.
Some of the work is also undertaken in the Companies workshops while other sites can be Retail Units, Hotels, and Hospitals.
Vacancies exist in the Medway area for Field Service Engineers` Assistants.
Key Features of the Role:
As a Service Engineers` Assistant, you will assist a Field Service Engineer in carrying out breakdown repair / trouble shooting to Escalators and Travelators.
Carry out duties in the Workshop carrying our repairs to materials, loading/unloading vehicles and completing relevant paperwork.
Ensuring that all health and safety rules, procedures and requirements are adhered to at all times and on all premises.
Provide professional support to all customers at all times, recognising that you are an ambassador of the Company.
Finally, the role will involve travel within the UK which may involve working away and night working.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Candidates ideally will have some experience of working an engineering related environment.
Able to work under instruction from an Engineer, able to work to deadlines, able to take responsibility for your own actions and promote good team working practices
Ideally have an understanding of safe working practices and health and safety legislation relating to engineering practice and workshops.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
A DBS check may be requested due to working on sensitive sites.
You must possess a Full UK Driving Licence and be IT literate.
What`s on Offer:
£12 per hour + overtime + benefits
An NVQ qualification scheme with progression to Escalator Engineer with additional training being offered.
20 days` holiday including bank and public holidays increasing to 25 days over 5 years, Stakeholder pension, Life assurance etc.
