A company that provides a whole range of services in landscape construction and maintenance to major UK domestic gardens and commercial businesses are seeking Landscape Operatives to provide first-rate grounds keeping duties. The Operative will be based in the Birmingham area. UK work is available for those interested, where overtime, food and accommodation will be provided. Ideally the Landscape Operative will have relevant qualifications and certificates or previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance however training will be provided. A UK driving licence is essential.
Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all landscape duties as required by the company including planting of trees and shrubs, turfing and seeding and site preparation in accordance with good company practice.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety Regulations, Q/A Systems and other procedures required by the company.
- Ensure at all times that Personal Protective Equipment is worn as instructed and is in good working order and ensure the Foreman is aware of any shortfall in PPE.
- Any plant or machinery you are instructed to use is serviced and daily checks are carried out.
- Support your Foreman at all times to achieve the correct completion days programmed into the contract.
- Ensure operations carried out are the highest standard possible.
- All tools in your possession are maintained and kept securely.
- Be courteous at all times to the Client on site or any of their representatives.
- Carry out other landscape duties as required by the company.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- UK driving licence
- Reliable, personable and
- Strong team work and able to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills
- Physically fit
Desirable:
- Spraying certificates
- Prior experience in Landscaping / Grounds Maintenance
Hours:
38 hrs Mon-Fri (finish early on Fridays)
Salary:
£9.50 during probation period
Rising to £10.50 - £13 depending on experience
