They are currently expanding their team and will shortly require additional Instructors to work in schools in the Cambridgeshire area. The positions are permanent.
Their mission is simple - they understand the struggles faced by schools in modern Britain, and they are there to help. Their Instructors work in schools and aim to be inspirational role models to help build character and resilience in young people. Their dedicated Instructors have already transformed thousands of young people`s lives, with remarkable improvements in attainment, attendance and behaviour.
They are looking for ex-service personnel to be an ambassador of the Company, to work with children and young adults, primarily (but not limited to) in both primary and secondary schools.
You will be responsible for delivering bespoke training programmes, aimed at raising confidence, self-esteem and physical ability.
They provide an initial training course to make sure their Instructors are the best of the best when it comes to teaching their `Character Education` curriculum in schools.
Key Features of the Role:
Each Instructor is allocated to work with up to five different schools, and each school works on a 39-week programme.
As an Instructor you will work in partnership with the schools you have been allocated to, and your aim is for you to become an indispensable part of the school`s staffing structure.
You will be working in schools from 8am until 4.30pm, on a programme which has been specifically designed by the Company for the school.
You will be involved in running breakfast and after school clubs, and you will take sessions throughout the school day, working with all children in the schools.
The Company works with young people who are disengaged and those who are at risk of exclusion; in both Primary and Secondary education, however they also work with middle tier pupils and those pupils that excel. This ensures their programmes do not have the effect of rewarding negative behaviour.
Full training is given, during which you will be paid, to be conducted from our client`s central office, which is based in Greater Manchester. Consisting of a 4-week programme which will be classroom and session-based working in schools and our clients training centre.
If you think you have the passion and drive to be an inspirational role model to children and young people, we would love to hear from you.
If you feel you have the qualities the Company need, we would love to hear from you.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally you will be a Military / Ex-Military Physical Training Instructor (PTI) with some teaching experience or as a minimum have attended promotion courses (NCO Cadres) with man management experience.
Clearly you must be physically fit.
Experience of working with young people from a variety of cultural backgrounds and ages up to 16 is highly desirable.
Previous involvement in the organisation and planning of outdoor physical activities is also desirable.
You should understand levels of knowledge and skills appropriate at different ages.
You will possess excellent communication, organisational and presentational skills and be able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive professional attitude.
You will have excellent inter-personal skills and can work collaboratively.
You must have a full UK Drivers Licence and ideally a current First Aid Certificate.
Ideally you will have knowledge of safeguarding issues in education.
You should have a strong personal commitment to equal opportunities in practice which encompasses gender, race, religion, disability and sexual orientation.
Ideally you will already have DBS clearance or Enhanced DBS clearance, if not you will have to pass an Enhanced DBS to be able to take up the position.
What`s on Offer:
Whilst on the four-week training course you will be paid at a rate of £250 per week.
On successful completion of your training course, you should be offered a permanent contract. Once on a permanent contract your basic salary will be £24,500 per annum, plus you have the potential to earn bonus.
