The Company and the Role:
Genuine permanent Restaurant Manager opportunity with an independently owned Hampshire based hospitality group, working in a uniquely exciting and buzzy Southampton restaurant which will include managing various types of functions and events.
The Restaurant Manager position is full time and you will be responsible for all supervisory duties when the GM is not around, working alongside the management team with all of the company`s private events and functions, both in the restaurant and bar.
These are well-known and well celebrated functions, looked forward to by hundreds of guests during the course of the year, some are themed events adding an additional element of fun and excitement, others are more cabaret evening, music nights, traditional gala balls, dinner jacket and black tie events.
You will make sure that the guest experience is not just achieved but excelled, going above and beyond expectations and high standards set, by making sure that all staff are well trained and drilled in high end guest expectations and service, so that the restaurant can offer consistently high standards and higher profitability.
You will be supervising FOH and BOH teams, providing an all-round excellent service to restaurant diners, and cater for a vast array of functions that can be for one group, or multiple groups, all at your unique venue for a particular singular event, or separate weddings, birthdays, hen parties, company celebrations etc.

As Restaurant Manager you will report to the GM, as well as being a trusted focal point for the restaurant and bar teams, making sure that standards are at their highest, and that all staff are working to the brand values and guidelines.
You will be that exceptional and passionate lynch pin between the frontline restaurant staff and management, making sure that you are helping your team members through busy shifts by getting stuck in and helping out.
You will work 5 days a week, utilising the strengths of your team, your personal skills and experience to pre-plan, organise and liaise with all relevant parties to run a smooth operation.
You will need to work closely with the kitchen to make sure they can manage with food orders, as staggering might be required during busy periods, and informing guests of any change to their expectations.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an accomplished Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
Current experience working in a restaurant, dealing with functions (50 to 200 people) on a regular basis, where high standards are an expected minimum.
Supervisory experience of FOH restaurant teams, or other general management experience, ranging from 10 - 30 staff is essential.
Hotel environment exposure is viable, silver service, multi-course dining, and table service.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering and hospitality qualification, and a wine pairing background would be ideal.
Passionate for staff training and development, promoting brand values and high levels of customer service standards in a fun but challenging environment.
Emotionally robust and someone who can thrive under pressure in a busy environment, as plans and cover numbers can change without warning, so someone who is prepared and who can think on their feet is an ideal match.
An excellent team player who can respectfully communicate to the team, take on criticism and push back, but keep your cool and professional attitude.

What`s on Offer?
The Restaurant Manager opportunity is a full-time permanent position, 5 days per week.
Basic salary up to £25K per annum depending upon experience. There is also tips available on top which will be discussed at interview.
20 days` holidays plus bank and public holidays or if required to work a day off in lieu. Staff Discount Card, free uniforms, meals on duty.
