Description :

An experienced Live-In Cook/Head Housekeeper is needed at a small working farm estate of a high net worth individual. Candidates will focus on providing a varied nutritional diet with a focus on healthy eating for an informal household with the ability to work at dinner party level for occasional entertaining. Health conscious candidates will use produce from a well-stocked vegetable garden, herb garden, orchard with beehives and home reared meat from the farm.

As the Head Housekeeper you will be required to support this beautiful home on a day to day basis which includes all hands-on general household duties to a high standard with overall responsibility. Your hands-on duties will include light cleaning, wardrobe management, family laundry (bed linens are laundered off site), shopping and other duties needed to support a family home. You will need to be organised, efficient and enjoy country life.

You will need to work under your own initiative and have a personality that boasts discretion, loyalty, honesty and a love of animals to fit in to this lovely household. The family are looking for someone who is passionate about their work and who can go the extra mile when necessary.

Key duties/responsibilities:

  • Cooking for the family when they are in residence
  • Meal planning using onsite ingredients and online food shopping
  • Organising and cleaning of kitchen / keeping stock of household supplies
  • Daily housekeeping tasks; changing sheets / bed-making / washing & ironing
  • Keeping the house clean and tidy
  • Assisting the House Manager on any additional tasks required

Person Specification

  • Be a capable cook who is able to follow recipes and accommodate changing dietary requirements
  • Be capable of a many household duties done to a high-standard
  • Be pet friendly
  • Be able to exude discretion, loyalty, honesty and who can go the extra mile when necessary with a sense of passion about the role

Desirable

  • Someone who cares about the province of their ingredients and enjoys using healthy fresh ingredients is desired
  • Experience of working with HNWI

Other information

  • Accommodation: small, one bedroom flat
  • Utilities including WIFI paid for
  • 5 day working week (usually Tuesday – Saturday)
  • Holidays: 20 + 8 BH
  • Yearly discretionary bonus equal to one-month’s salary
  • Pension
