The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.
It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of a Purchasing Specialist to be part of the project management team. The contract will last for around 6 months.
Key Features of the Role:
As the Purchasing Specialist / Buyer you will be part of the project management team.
Utilise your experience as a Purchasing Specialist / Buyer to conduct all purchasing activity in accordance with company contracting and procurement policy.
Direct negotiation of cost with suppliers, applying orders, obtaining materials, equipment and services.
Administration and coordination of supplier contracts in collaboration with company guidelines, costs, commercials and delivery.
Consultation with line managers with Supplier Logistics quotation and over key parameters
On the completion of the building of phase one the Purchasing Specialist role will broaden to include the procurement of a range of products that the restaurant, housekeeping and janitorial will require.
Follow hazard elimination program (HELP).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally an accomplished Purchasing Specialist / Buyer with construction site experience to source products from the local area.
Experienced in supply chain procedures and able to identify and source supply partners, in line with a departmental sourcing process.
Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.
Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel.
What`s on Offer?
£25,200 (possibly more for an exceptional candidate) on a 6 month contract, plus a benefits package.
