Description The Sackville Apartments are seeking a Night Concierge to add to their team. On De La Warr Parade in Bexhill-on-Sea, the Sackville is Bexhill's most prestigious apartment building. The Sackville is a retirement building for the over 50's and has over 110 long leasehold flats / tenants. The Night Concierge role is a waking / sleeping role. The Night Concierge role 2 to 4 shifts per week. A newly refurbished studio flat is available for your shift nights. The employeer is responsible for all electricity / council tax / water within the night concierge flat but the night concierge will also have free use of the Sackville laundry. We are ideally looking for a mature individual From the Bexhill area.  Age: 50 plus. The role is a waking / sleeping role. From 4pm to 10pm you will be required to be in the building, whether in your flat or in the conciege office. From 11pm to 8am you are merely on call should a fire alarm sound or a tenant use their careline style pull cord. Perfect opportunity to watch tv, catch up on a novel or your favourite box-set. If a fire alarm goes off, the role is to silence fire panel, investigate the cause and (most frequently) open a tenants flat windows to waft burnt toast etc so as to be able to reactivate the fire panel. If a fire is found, your role is not to fight the fire, but to remove the tenant if safe to do so, close fire doors, raise the general alarm, and contact the fire brigade giving them instructions as to the location of the fire. If a careline alarm goes off, the role is to respond to the tenant by way of the two way speech unit, if an error, to re-set the system. If the tenant has an genuine issue, to collect the flat key from one of the landing key safes if necessary, go to the flat and assess whether the tenant requires family and / or an ambulance to be called. We are a hands-off service. Your role is to call on either family and / or profesionals to make a decision as to the medical needs of a tenant. The position is permanent part-time Requirements Whilst the Sackville has three lifts, you must be physicaly fit and able to walk around the Sackville unaided. You must be good under pressure.
