The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.
It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Electrical Engineer.
This is a senior position which will be part of the project management team and the company is looking to appoint a person quickly and will last for around 9 months.
Key Features of the Role:
Develop detailed electrical designs and read and implement single line diagrams, electrical circuit schemes, cable logs, power demand calculations.
Provide technical supervision of Electrical, IT, Fire Alarm, CCTV works and select appropriate electrical accessories, cables, CBs based on valid CODs and calculations.
Ensure the plant construction work is performed in accordance with erection schedules and project documents, quality and safety procedures, and the terms and conditions of the contract.
Supervise electrical field work and small projects if needed.
Undertake feasibility assessments and site inspections and make recommendations or presenting alternative solutions to problems.
Ensure compliance with Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) and generate and ensure compliance for Confined space entry, Excavations, Motorized heavy equipment, Energy Isolation, Hot works, On, near or over water.
Follow hazard elimination program (HELP).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Be an Electrical Engineer ideally with a Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, accredited by the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
An Electrical Safety Certificate may be required and registration/Licensure as a Professional Engineer may be required.
Able to read installation manuals, tutorials, highly specialized drawings and interpret all information to the construction team.
Experienced in electrical testing (insulation resistance test LV/HV, measurement of the earth system, circuit breakers test, measurement earthing resistance, measurement of impedance loop resistance and be aware of the full range of applicable codes and standards of electrical installation and maintenance.
Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.
Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiar with design software, such as Autodesk, Easypower or similar.
What’s on Offer?
£38-40K pro rata on a temporary worker basis.
Overtime is a possibility
Minimum Holidays are expected to be taken until November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
