A worldwide research and development company is looking for a CNC Programmer to work on pioneering projects from concept to launch and in-life support. The team are responsible for producing aircraft model components which are then assembled into scale models to be tested in a wind tunnel. You will be responsible for using Delcam Powermill and Powershape programmes but if you have used Heidenhain or Fanuc, for example, then this may a role for you. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team of leading professionals in a secure environment at a world-class facility.

Key Responsibilities:
- Delcam Powermill and Powershape PowerMILL 3D CAM programming for 2 to 5 axis CNC milling to ensure that the machine tool is optimised and material waste is minimised.
- CNC technical lead and point person for all aspects of the CNC Programming.
- Overall delivery of CNC Programming to agreed quality and delivery dates.
- Regular communication and co-ordination with CNC Section Team Leader.

Knowledge, skills and qualifications - essential:
Highly proficient programmer for off-line axis milling programmes, using Delcam Powermill and Powershape, to enable:
- Importing of geometry.
- Modelling of supports/fixtures.
- Establishing tooling and clamping sequences.
- Creating optimum cutter paths.
- Determining optimal speeds and feeds.
- Posting programs to vertical milling machines.
- Extension of geometry lines
- Adhere to all Health and Safety directives and Quality processes.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications - desirable:
- Able to write programmes for 5-axis milling.
- Flexible and positive attitude to deadlines.

Person Specification:
- You will be asked to agree to undergo a security check.
- Due to security requirements you must have lived in the UK continually for the last five years.
- There may be times when you will be asked to work a shift pattern to ensure a project is completed.
