The Company and the Role:
Passionate Sous Chef required to work with an award-winning fresh food kitchen team based in a four-star Gastro Pub and hotel located in Berkshire. This is an amazing full-time permanent opportunity.
Join a quintessentially English pub bar and hotel which can offer its guests and residence awesome well-thought-out seasonal menu items in a picturesque location.
As part of an award-winning kitchen team you will showcase the `best of seasons` menu range, utilising locally sourced organic vegetables, as well as locally sourced river fish, and locally sourced meat and game.
This awesome venue offers Breakfast, A La Carte and Sunday Lunch dinning, as well as unique and exceptional events dinning covering private functions, business meetings, weddings and garden parties, where you can be part of bespoke menu creation.
Lunchtime service starts at 12:00 and finishes at 15:00, with Dinner service starting at 18:00 and finishing around 21:00, producing 1 rosette or higher standard food.

Key Features of the Role:
Fresh food Sous Chefs will work full time hours split and straight shifts (50-55 hours per week) in partnership with the other brigade Chefs, under the direction of the Head Chef.
Bringing your focus, confidence and passion into a busy kitchen where you will be producing dishes for guests at a 1 rosette level or higher.
Using your understanding and knowledge of seasonal menus, to pair and create complimentary taste sensations and create a high standard of food every time.
Using professional and respectable communication techniques as a leader who can support the Head Chef as well as manage the kitchen team and property in the Head Chefs absence.
Controlling food margins and being a pro-active Sous Chef who contributes to menu ideas, as well as team development.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an accomplished Sous Chef, with a passion and pride in the food you produce.
Reliable, conscientious and punctual.
Current experience in fresh food and award-winning gastro pub, restaurant or hotel kitchen.
Worked under pressure and in a busy but exciting and vibrant kitchen environment.
Managed and supervised a team of Chefs and or Cooks of various levels.
Worked to company standards and procedures, hitting financial and management targets, understanding margin controls.
A good working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH.
Level 2 certification in Food Hygiene is ideally required but not essential.

What`s on Offer?
As Sous Chef you could be offered a basic salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000 based on you trial and interview results, as well as your aptitude, attitude, knowledge and skill base.
Tips will be issued, roughly an extra £3000 per annum on top of your basic salary
Working in an equivalent one rosette kitchen under a very talented, award winning Head Chef

There is no guaranteed Live In accommodation, so you must have your own transport and live within a commutable distance or relocating at your own cost.
