The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.
It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Equipment Operator.
Opportunities exist with the company on the project which is likely to start around late July until November 2019. There is a strong possibility that the role could be extended to March 2020.
Key Features of the Role:
Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company`s operating safety policies and procedures and provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers and ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean and stored in a safe manner.
Use your skills as an Equipment Operator top observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and co-workers and complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.
Follow Hazard elimination program (HELP).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Be an accomplished Equipment Operator ideally with experience in a petrochemical construction environment.
Able to identify all hand signals, weight limits, safety regulations, and operating codes that are relevant for crane operation.
Must have current drivers’ licence and other certification if required.
Possess valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and follow safety rules assigned by Company.
What’s on Offer?
£28,000-33,500 pro rata on a temporary worker basis.
Overtime is a possibility.
No Holidays are offered or expected to be taken during the 3-4-month period from late July to November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
