The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.
It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Construction Project Manager.
This is a senior position which will be part of the project management team and the company is looking to appoint a person quickly before the likely start date for the project which is around mid - July and will last for around 9 months.
Key Features of the Role:
Meeting with Engineers, Architects and Contractors on an ongoing basis regarding project objectives and progress.
Managing and motivating Site Foremen and teams and ensuring all equipment needed is available on site.
As the Project Manager you will ensure budget costs relating to wages, contractors, materials and equipment aren’t exceeded and approve purchase requests.
Make the construction process start and end on time and ensure daily and weekly deadlines are met.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and all other regulations and generate security, hygiene waste and environmental management plans.
Make risk assessment of workplaces and provide safe work observations (SWO) following a hazard elimination program (HELP).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally be an accomplished Construction Project Manager with a Bachelors’ Degree in Construction Management and supervisory experience in a Petro Chemical Construction environment.
Experienced in construction site management experience and able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
Skilled at solving conflict between different project members and staff by utilising your excellent negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ideally have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.
Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and Project software.
What’s on Offer?
£45-60K pro rata on a temporary worker basis.
Overtime is a possibility.
Minimum Holidays are expected to be taken from mid- July to November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
