A long-standing fabrication/construction company is looking for a Senior Structural Designer to be a part of a small design team which is pivotal to the success of the business. Our client prides itself on using commercially-managed and sustainable resources to produce top-range products for the public and private sectors. Attention to detail is key for this role as well as excellent communication skills between internal and external stakeholders. Candidates will be highly proficient in AutoCAD and the interpretation of architect and engineering drawings. In the absence of the Design Manager, the Senior Structural Designer will be expected to fill in and manage the design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Structural Designer to apply a ‘can do attitude’ and their experience towards the success and growth of this company.

Key responsibilities
- As the Senior Designer ensure quality checks are completed prior to drawings issued to production
- Act as the Deputy Design Manager for the Design Manager in his absence
- Ensuring that there are good communications between the design department and other stakeholders (clients, contracts manager and production)
- Support the company to ensure that it has the right information for production

- Good communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
- Fostering good team work and an environment where everyone works together to achieve their design goals
- Excellent attention to detail is a must in this role
Essential Qualifications
- Highly proficient in using AutoCAD
- Good understanding of architect and engineers drawings
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience in the fabrication or construction sector
- Experience of line management
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum DOE
Benefits: Training opportunities provided. 20 days holiday + bank holidays
Contract: Permanent role – 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday, office-based)
Hours: 8:15am – 5:15pm
