The Company and the Role:
The company is the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai. As part of its role it maintains two military camps one in the North close to the Mediterranean coast and one in the South near Sharm El Sheikh.
They are currently seeking a Data Analyst to be based in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The position is offered on a 2-year contract, renewable.
Reporting into the Civilian Observer Unit Manager you will document the results of the Civilian Observer Units in a Data Management System and maintain an internal main database of mission results data and conduct visualization, aggregation, extraction and presentation of both required and requested data analytics.
Key Features of the Role:
Ensure accurate data intake from field mission teams and produce accurate data reports, maintain and generate the Civilian Observer Units Operations Officer`s matrix of non-routine mission locations for effective planning.
Monitor all aspects of mission areas including geography, infrastructure development, disposition of accountable equipment and units (military, border guard, and police) and changes that may affect the safe operation of the Civilian Observer Units which are situated in Desert locations.
Extensive use of Sharepoint and producing data reports and analysis in the manner required, such as Google Earth Pro visualization, graphs, charts, tables and data mining for historical analysis and predictions as required.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
You will ideally be an accomplished Data Analyst or Information Manager, possibly an Intelligence Analyst.
Ideally hold a degree in computer science or data science and information management, data science or professional certifications and experience in a relevant field.
Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint or other information platforms and advanced Excel database functions (such as Advanced Formulas, Pivot Tables and Pivot Reporting, VBA and Macros, etc.) and the Analyst ToolPak.
Ideally experienced in data visualization techniques and tools and in mapping software.
Experience and proficiency with SQL with well-known platforms such as MS SQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL and familiarity with commonly used scripting languages used to extract data and produce reports such as Python, Bash and R.
Experience of working in a military environment as a Data Analyst or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally be able to speak some Arabic, Hebrew, Spanish and/or French but not essential.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should possess a driver`s licence.
What`s on Offer?
Salary guide is £70,000 to £74,000 per annum depending upon your experience and skill set and is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Included in the basic salary is a 20% location allowance payable and also a 7% allowance in lieu of a pension scheme, both of which are tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 2 year unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, health insurance and meals. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The holiday entitlement is 28 days plus 12 public holidays
