Superb and award-winning bar and restaurant, seeking a passionate and vibrant Pastry Chef in Southampton on a permanent basis, in a unique venue location, creating pastries and baked items.
Create great pastries, and desserts for the restaurant`s ala carte menu, including scones and patisseries for the award-winning afternoon teas.
The Company is looking for a talented Pastry Chef for one of their most successful and busy restaurants in Southampton.
This restaurant is registered on Trip Advisor as being in the top 5% of restaurants in Southampton, and regularly achieving 4.5 star ratings.
Flair and passion will be nurtured and developed within the team and career paths will be developed leading to other positions within the group of restaurants and bars.
Customers expect a great experience every time they visit any of the Company`s, Restaurants and Bars. Together as a team it`s your job to ensure that the customer`s expectations are met and hopefully exceeded,
Key Features of the Role:
Create and define desserts and pastries for the restaurant customers, corporate events, function and private events on a regular basis.
Desire to build your reputation and culinary distinction and trend. Prepare all food on site using the best ingredients that are in season, and local where possible, using carefully sourced suppliers.
Work alongside an experienced and established Head Chef and help assist them in developing a best team approach, which is one of their core principles. Helping to influence an effective kitchen and help achieve a good gross profit and efficient ordering / stock control.
Working full time 5 days a week, covering both split and straight shifts, with the restaurant offering lunchtime and evening service.
Organisational skills and the ability to thrive in what can be a very busy restaurant, where the reputation for consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality, is second to none.
As Pastry Chef you will set the highest standards of food quality, consistency and hygiene, as you will be working in very busy kitchen environment, needing you to demonstrate good attention to detail.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an experience Pastry or Bakery Chef / Cook, who has made menu items such as Scones, Petit Fours, Cupcakes etc.
Knowledge and techniques in pastry and baking, ideally backed up with some level of educational qualification or relevant certificate in the catering industry.
This opportunity will suit an experienced or talented Pastry Chef de Partie or Baker who wants to take that step up into an award-winning venue which deliver consistently to guests no matter what the occasion.
You must live in the Hampshire area or be able to get to Southampton by public transport or through your own transport.
What`s on Offer?
For the right Pastry Chef de Partie who completes a basic trial test and interview with the right attitude, aptitude, knowledge, experience and skill set, the Company will offer a basic salary ranging from £18,000 to £22,000 per annum + Tips.
Full time permanent employment offering 48 hours per week, 5 days per week.
No breakfast service, so no early mornings.
