A field maintenance engineer is needed by a healthcare solutions provider that enables older people, or those with complex health needs, to live more independently and enhance their quality of life. The field maintenance engineer will provide a high quality repair and maintenance service for Telecare and Assisted Living equipment in an efficient and professional manner. As a field maintenance engineer you will need to be able to demonstrate exceptional customer relationship and interpersonal skills. You will have your own territory and will work standard hours, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance checks on Telecare equipment
  • Smoke detector cleaning and battery replacements and preventative maintenance checks to products/systems to ensure that issues are pro-actively averted
  • Repair and maintain existing equipment and systems across a range of products
  • Undertake simple installation of individual pieces of equipment to company standards
  • Meet or exceed targets for productivity, quality, first fix rate, stock control and attendance
  • Identify customer satisfaction issues and participate in their resolution and future prevention
  • Demonstrate co-operation and flexibility in meeting the demands of customers
  • Be a highly motivated team member promoting a world class service provider culture
  • To ensure paperwork is clear, concise and on time
  • Endeavour to create new business and sustain existing business

Knowledge, skills and qualifications - essential:

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety issues relating to electrical & installation work

Knowledge, skills and qualifications - preferred:

  • City & Guilds or similar in basic electrical installations work and associated safe systems of work (e.g. 16/17th edition regulations, safety passports etc.)
  • Basic telephone wiring knowledge
  • Basic understanding of system architecture of intercom based communication, access control, CCTV, Telecare, Fire Alarm or Intruder systems and their installation or modification

Person Specification:

You will be able to analyse and solve technical issues and show flexibility in undertaking a range of basic duties. As a team player, you will be motivated towards achieving both company and personal goals. You will be alert to customer dissatisfaction issues and opportunities for business development.
