The Company and the Role:
The company is a major Steel Fabrication, Engineering and Construction company involved in Structural Steel Fabrication, Bridging, Motor Transport Engineering, Building and Construction works.
Current contracts are in mining, government and private business ventures.
They are seeking a Senior Planner to be based in Papua New Guinea. The position is offered on a 3 year renewable contract.
Key Features of the Role:
As a Senior Planner your key responsibilities will assist in the development of tenders and construction methodology.
Develop subcontracts autonomously and procurement programme managing local and offshore purchasing.
Assist in the development of detailed project planning in the construction and procurement programmes.
Establish resource requirements for projects and liaise with the contracts team for substantiating extensions of time.
Client and stakeholder communication and assist in the development of management and construction programmes.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally an accomplished Planner with a Degree in Construction or a Diploma in Construction and experience in similar roles within fabrication and construction industries.
Experienced in planning and monitoring of time-based performance of projects relating to construction, structural steel, steel tanks, steel bridges, small to large scale general steel fabrication.
Familiar with planning methodology and project management principles and excellent organisational, presentation and time management skills
Proficient in computing software such as Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Primavera P6
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should possess a driver’s licence.
What’s on Offer?
£82- 96k salary per annum is offered depending upon your experience and skill set and is paid in Australian Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 3 year contract is offered which includes free accommodation, vehicle, life assurance and health insurance. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The holiday entitlement is 5 weeks with 2 free flights per annum back to your home base.
