A multi-national company is looking for a forklift driver to work at their yard in the Brighton area. They are looking for someone who can think on their feet and work independently, but also is ready to pitch in with the rest of the team to get the job done. Good maths skills are important as well as you will be calculating load lengths, widths and weight. This role would suit an experienced forklift driver, but the company is willing to offer training for the right person who might not have much experience. This is a fast-paced and challenging work environment that would suit a candidate with a positive attitude who doesn’t shy away from a hard days’ work.

Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the safe loading/unloading of vehicles within Shoreham Service Centre to maintain and accurately record all daily checks in reference to the forklift that is being operated
- To assist with the filling in of check sheets in reference to all hire/buyback/trucked material
- To ensure the correct material is loaded and checked before dispatch
- To provide back up and cover for all operational duties within the yard, as allocated by Management
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements on site
- Prepare forklift for daily duties to ensure that the forklift is safe for use
- Monitor and keep accurate daily records of the forklift that is in operation
- Organise, check and prepare loads for dispatch
- Remove all internal stock labels from material prior to dispatch
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times
- To ensure all PPE issued is maintained and kept to a high standard
Skills, Prior Experience and Person Specification:
- Accuracy essential
- Ability to prioritise workload
- The ability to communicate
- Work as part of a team, but work on own initiative when required
Salary: £25,000 pa + OT
