The Company and the Role:
Amazing home and field based Technical Consultant opportunity within an award-winning national telecommunications business. This permanent role will have you offering technical expertise to clients across the South Coast.
You will be working in the exclusive part of the Company`s Technical Services Department, providing highly skilled, trusted and accredited technical resources nationwide, for project and maintenance services.
You will ensure client`s networks operate as efficiently and reliably as possible within the constraints of contractual obligations, and remit of the Technical Consultant.
Working from home or out in the field (at the client`s location potentially), you will act as a proven technical account specialist, providing customer facing written documentation on installed projects, as well as providing endorsed technical knowledge transfer, for smooth transition from project into service.
You may also be required to give vibrant and passionate written or verbal presentations as part of the role.
Key Features:
As Technical Consultant you will be responsible for implementing complex premier solutions, utilising trusted industry recognised and endorsed vendor best practices.
Ensuring that implementation and support issues are appropriately escalated to product manufacturers and that those problems are guaranteed to be progressed in a timely manner.
Maintaining appropriate and trusted product certifications, an appropriate pioneering skill level, and awareness of new ground-breaking products and product releases.
Passionate provision of 3rd line support during office hours to diagnose and rectify client network problems, as well as the provision of 2nd and 3rd line support (plus out of hours) whilst on call as part of an 8 week rota.
Ensuring that requests for technical support, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis are serviced in a timely manner, within SLA`s, ensuring appropriate escalation adhered to, and customers are fully updated.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
As a Technical Consultant you must have the following Vendor certifications and be an accomplished Technical Consultant with a matching current work experience in the UK.
Experience of multiple vendor equipment and technologies
Juniper JNCIA-Junos
Juniper JNCIS-ENT
Juniper JNCIS-SEC
Palo Alto CNSE
Aruba ACMP / ACMX
Extreme Networks ENS (or equivalent experience)
Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching (or equivalent experience)
Full UK Driving Licence maximum 3 points
Excellent telephone manner, and genuine current experience explaining complex technical diagnosis over the phone.
Currently acting as a source of technical expertise to others.
Currently applying knowledge and skills through handling complex problems beyond your own area of expertise.
Passionate and trusted when demonstrating technical and personal competencies to support varying new pioneering and emerging ground-breaking technology areas.
What`s on Offer?
Basic salary on offer can range from £40,000 up to £65,000, which will be assessed at the Technical Consultant interview and based on experience, plus other contributing factors.
The role also comes with a car allowance, which will be discussed at interview.
Core working hours 9:00 till 17:30 Monday to Friday, however there will be an 8 week rota where you may need to cover `out of hours support` requirements outside of normal hours.
25 days holiday + bank holidays + additional 1 day`s holiday for every year worked up to 30 days holiday maximum.
The option to buy up to an extra 5 holiday days.
