The Company provides ground breaking radar technologies and capabilities of detecting the smallest of targets in clutter. The Company meets the surveillance, safety and security needs of a large variety of land and sea clients across the globe.
Due to continued expansion, there is a genuine requirement for a Sales Director in their Security Solutions team, at their site in North London. The position is permanent.
Selling SSB (Single SideBand transmission products & systems) primarily in the marine sector and to global customers. Taking ownership of the whole sales process from: prospect identification, through qualification, presentation, proposals, negotiation, contracts and closure. Post sales activities will be required in order to ensure that the contracted goods are delivered as agreed.
Successfully identifying and prioritising key market areas so that you can meet your own targets established by Sales Forecasts. Establish and maintain global market representation and help identify new and alternative marketing opportunities. The skill of key account management is the ability to negotiate and agree contracts on behalf of the Company. Understanding the customer`s requirements and being able to advise them on system designs that will help benefit your relationship with those accounts.
While identifying new markets and services you will plan and execute sales activities as defined by the Divisional Head, to whom you report. Input data into Company systems to feed the sales forecast for the areas as defined. You will be required to use the Company`s system to provide information on opportunities.
Key Features of the Sales Director Role:
Sales Director Candidates will be able to make presentations to both customers and internal departments, liaise with overseas marketing channels, and take full responsibility for the profitability of accounts, including payment terms and debt management / recovery where required.
Contribute to and maintain data to support the Marketing Databases, and keep up-to-date with the Company`s products and solutions, not only for your customers but also for the Company`s Product Development and new Product design teams.
Attending conferences and exhibitions, meeting with customers and partners, including travel abroad when required, plus providing support and input for marketing activities such as new brochures, mail shots, exhibitions etc.
Travel within the UK and overseas is required and is considered a regular feature of this role. Requests could be made at short notice.
Comply with any reasonable operational instruction or procedures relating to Company`s policies, reporting and controls.
Knowledge and Skills:
Accomplished Sales Director with experience in the marine industry and or security solutions sector, although experience in other engineering sectors will be considered.
You must have a proven track record in corporate sales, business customer accounts and ongoing B2B customer relationship management.
You should possess excellent commercial acumen, preferably with experience of P&L responsibility.
You should be IT / PC literate, conversant with standard MS Office software packages (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
