A Behaviour Manager is needed at a mixed-secondary school in Northamptonshire to develop, promote and integrate the school’s behavior plan to over 1000 students. The Behaviour Manager will be expected to work closely with the Vice Principal to monitor students’ behaviour and attitude to learning; liaising with teachers, subject leaders and sometimes families and offering assistance where necessary. They will support the effective running of internal exclusions and detention duties. They will also act as a key point of contact for parents and should build and maintain positive, professional relationships with all our parent community. Key responsibilities:
- To support day to day management of student behaviour, liaising with Pastoral Year Managers and Heads of Year as appropriate.
- Act as a role model for pupils and staff by demonstrating high quality pastoral care and support, rigorous expectations and a visible professional presence with pupils.
- To manage, be responsible for and develop all aspects of the Behavioural Intervention Unit.
- Liaise with staff, teachers and parents/carers regularly to discuss matters and to keep accurate records of student outcomes and interventions.
- To evaluate the progress made by individuals and/or groups of students and report accordingly.
- Working with pupils offering 1:1 support through coaching and mentoring both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Monitor student behaviour and make the necessary interventions when appropriate.
- To plan and deliver behavioural intervention programmes to support students to reflect upon and improve their conduct.
- To be aware and comply with the policies and procedures on child protection, confidentiality, attendance, health and safety and data protection.

- Due to the nature of the role you must have strong behaviour management skills and be able to adapt to any situation.
- Previous experience of counselling, coaching and mentoring.
- You must be able to build rapport with the pupils you are working with and have a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- The ability to interpret student progress data.
- Knowledge of child protection procedures.
- Possess a good level of ICT skills (experience with SIMS desirable)
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, permanent contract
